Philippe Clement makes January loan exit decision on Rangers defender Leon King
Philippe Clement is ready to sanction a loan move for Rangers defender Leon King in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Record.
The newspaper reported on its website on Thursday (7 December) that the Gers boss knows the 19-year-old is highly rated, but he can’t guarantee him regular minutes in the first team at Ibrox.
It added that the Belgian will look at “suitable options” for the Scotland U-21 international, who has been left out of the Light Blues squad recently.

Needs game time
This is a sensible decision from Clement as there is no doubt King is a talented player and he will want to ensure he is getting regular game time.
It wouldn’t usually be an issue because he is still so young, but because the centre-back featured a fair bit for the Gers last season, it’s important that his career doesn’t stall.
There is also no point in him staying at Ibrox if he isn’t even making the bench as Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun, John Souttar and Ben Davies are all currently ahead of him in the pecking order.

It’s unknown where the Scotsman could end up heading out on loan to, but there is bound to be plenty of interest from clubs wanting to sign him.
A chance to play regular football across the second half of the campaign will stand him in good stead as he’ll be looking to force his way into contention for the Light Blues next season.
In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has urged the Gers to sign a player who “terrifies” defenders.
