Neil McCann urges Rangers to sign Abdallah Sima on BBC Sportscene, multi-million fee mooted
Neil McCann has urged Rangers to sign Abdallah Sima on a permanent deal after what he did against Hearts on Wednesday (6 December).
Speaking on BBC Sportscene on Wednesday (29:05), the pundit said the 22-year-old, who is on a season-long loan deal from Brighton, has got pace and a threat in behind, which “terrifies” defenders after he scored the only goal in the Gers’ 1-0 victory over the Jambos.
He added that the Light Blues should try and sign the Senegalese international if possible, but he questioned whether money would be an issue, suggesting the winger could cost between £6million and £7million.

“He’s got pace, he’s got threat in behind, which terrifies defenders and he can actually have a bit of composure about him as well, he fires it under Zander Clark here,” said McCann.
“Without doubt, if they can get him, I would say go and try and acquire him permanently. But it’s a money thing, are they going to have the finances to get somebody like that? What’s he going to cost, £6million-£7million? Have Rangers got those finances? I don’t know.”
Worth it
It was another excellent finish from Sima as he secured all three points for Rangers when he latched onto James Tavernier’s ball in behind and slotted it through Hearts keeper Zander Clark’s legs.
The fee that has been mooted would be an awful lot of money for the Gers to fork out on one player, but he is showing all the signs that he could be worth it.
The difficulty for the club could be in finding the cash during the January transfer window after Michael Beale spent big in the summer as he overhauled the squad.

Philippe Clement will know how important the Senegalese is for his side, but he may also want to strengthen a number of other areas once the transfer window opens.
There is a good chance that the Light Blues will wait until next summer to make their move for him permanently when there could be some more available cash floating around.
