Rangers should ‘get rid’ of star players including three summer signings
Stevie Clifford, host of the Four Lads Had a Dream podcast, has listed Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers, Jose Cifuentes and Ridvan Yilmaz as players who should leave Rangers in January.
Clifford claimed things just haven’t worked out at Ibrox for the three summer signings, while Yilmaz is attracting interest from clubs and could head for the exit door.
It was also suggested that moving these players on would be for the good of the club to recycle the money spent in the summer in an attempt to back Michael Beale.

Speaking on The Rangers Review YouTube channel [6 December], Clifford shared: “There are some that should be heading for the exit door in January, whether or not we can get rid of them.
“Quite bluntly, I don’t think it’s working for Sam Lammers. I don’t think it’s working for Cyriel Dessers. I don’t think it’s working for Jose Cifuentes. If any of them were offered an exit in January, I don’t think any of us would be against it, and I think for the good of the club we need to try and recycle that.
“In the bigger scheme of it, there’s other players that can possibly go in that squad. There’s a few that could go in January. Look at the likes of Ridvan [Yilmaz] who has a monetary value, there’s lots of interest in him, I think we’ll see him possibly go out the door.”
Could be a busy January
It could be a busy January transfer window at Ibrox with plenty of names potentially on the chopping board after half a season of lacklustre performances. Even those who arrived in the summer could be let go as the time for patience and hope is not now.
With the desire to catch Celtic’s dominant run in recent years burning brightly, fans are beginning to lose patience and demand success now. Given the inconsistency both Old Firm sides have faced this season, now could be the time for Rangers to make the most of it.

Philippe Clement has spoken about the perceived lack of balance in his squad and has called for the board to invest in new arrivals to assist with that, hinting at a number of possible incoming players as well as those suggested to leave.
If the right investment is given in January and the squad is trimmed of its disappointing players tying down the wage bill, a resurgence could be seen at Ibrox in the second half of the season, setting up a push for some serious silverware.
In other Rangers news, Clement has said there will be talks over one permanent deal.
