Four Lads: ‘No-brainer’ Lawrence Shankland transfer verdict emerges at Rangers
Stevie Clifford of Four Lads Had a Dream, an official partner of Rangers, has called for the club to sign Lawrence Shankland in the January transfer window.
The podcast host called the possibility of a move a “no-brainer” and said Shankland is the obvious choice to improve Rangers’ attacking threat which has been lacking so far this season.
This was amid claims that there are question marks surrounding Danilo’s ability to score goals consistently at Ibrox despite a fairly promising start to his time in Glasgow.

“You have to get a striker in,” said Clifford on The Rangers Review YouTube Channel [6 December], “Someone who’s going to put the ball in the net.
“I like Danilo, I think he’s got something about him, but there are still huge question marks about whether or not he’s good enough to get 20 goals per season.
“I keep going back to it, I just think that Lawrence Shankland is such an obvious choice, I think it’s such a no-brainer for us. If it’s doable I would be going to visit that.”
Speculation won’t go away
Talk surrounding a possible switch to Rangers for Shankland has been rumbling for a while now, with the rumours over his Hearts future not going away, and the Ibrox club in need of a proven striker to lead the line under Philippe Clement.
Strikers Cyriel Dessers, Danilo and Sam Lammers were all brought to Ibrox by Michael Beale in the summer transfer window with the hope that they would make up for the goals they lost when Alfredo Morelos left the club.

Now, though, none of the new arrivals have proved to be good enough to lead the line at Ibrox, and Shankland stands out as the option to get the goals the three other options have been sorely lacking so far this season despite the upturn in form under Clement.
Shankland has scored six goals in 14 SPFL appearances for Hearts so far this season – not exactly a stellar record so far, but his 24 goals in 37 goals last season provides an insight into what he can do at this level.
In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement has said talks will take place over a permanent deal.
