Rangers news as vote to take place for John Bennett and board

A vote will be taken on whether to re-elect John Bennett, John Halsted, Alastair Johnson and Graeme Park onto the Rangers board at the AGM on 5 December, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.

The newspaper shared in their print edition [5 December, pg 71] that the vote on the board members will be one of a number of topics brought up at the meeting later on today.

Other topics likely to be raised include the club’s transfer record, ticket allocations for both home and away Old Firm derbies, and possibly the use of pyrotechnics after the club put out a statement warning fans against their use.

Positions should be safe

The article seems to raise no questions as to the job security of any of the board members, and given the direction Rangers are looking to head as a club, stability at the top of the decision-making chain may be just what is needed to continue their progress.

If the people right at the top who ultimately call the shots find some consistency then the plans for the future of Rangers will be a much smoother ride with everybody on the same page about the way they want to move forward and improve in all aspects.

Bennett will be joined by CEO James Bisgrove at the AGM to answer the more pressing questions surrounding financial concerns after the club released its accounts, as well as potential January transfer spending to back Philippe Clement.

The AGM will provide the opportunity for those on the board to address any concerns that may be lingering while establishing a path for the future and the direction in which they want the club to move – as well as the way they plan to achieve that.
