CEO James Bisgrove shares Ibrox renovation update at Rangers AGM

Rangers CEO James Bisgrove has confirmed work will continue over the summer in the Copland Road Stand as the renovations at Ibrox kick on.

The 2022 AGM saw Rangers reveal plans to improve disabled facilities within the stadium in a process which would also see an increase in the capacity at Ibrox, and that work is set to continue as shared at this year’s meeting.

Bisgrove described the renovations as a “substantial commitment” from the board and reassured that the progress is still being made and will continue to take place over the summer.

As shared by Scottish Sun journalist Jonathan Moar [5 December, 11:16], who was in attendance at the AGM: “Last year’s AGM saw the reveal of big plans to improve disabled facilities within the stadium – a process that will lead to a small increase in the overall capacity of Ibrox Stadium.

“Chief executive James Bisgrove confirms work will continue over the summer in the Copland Road Stand.

“He describes it as a ‘substantial commitment’ from the board.”

A promise to work towards improvement

With the initial plans revealed a year ago, it was reassuring to hear from Bisgrove that those plans are still very much in place, and that work will continue to take place at Ibrox as they build towards their goals and promises made to the fans and shareholders.

Improved disabled facilities will be a crucial part of these renovations, allowing greater access to disabled fans to come to Ibrox and watch Rangers play knowing that the facilities in place are top standard and catered properly towards them.

An improved capacity will be a step towards improving the stadium for all visiting supporters as well as the club. More seats mean more tickets, which means more fans will be able to attend, while the club will profit from the extra ticket sales.

Bisgrove’s reassurance to the fans will be greatly appreciated and is the purpose of the AGM to address any concerns and clear up any issues which may have arisen throughout the year.
