Important win

Rangers certainly needed three points in their league clash with St Mirren after their very disappointing draw against Aris Limassol.

The Gers were held to a 1-1 stalemate at home to the Cypriot club in Europa League group stage action on Thursday (30 November).

And while it was not a fantastic display against Stephen Robinson’s side, Clement will still be happy that a vital three points were secured.

Fierce rivals Celtic did, however, also clinch three points with a 3-1 victory away to St. Johnstone on Sunday, despite trailing the match 1-0 at half-time.

Up next for Clement and his players is a tough test away to Hearts on Wednesday (6 December), followed by a home clash with Dundee on Saturday (9 December).

Then comes the most crucial period for Clement at Ibrox so far, with the Gers meeting Real Betis in the Europa League and Aberdeen in the Viaplay Cup final.

In other Rangers news, a Sky Sports pundit has slammed a Gers “failure” as a “booby prize” is on the cards for the Ibrox club.
