Philippe Clement questions may be asked soon ahead of definitive Rangers week
A definitive week is approaching for Philippe Clement as Rangers boss, with a trip to face Real Betis in Seville followed by the Viaplay Cup final against Aberdeen, according to Graeme Croser.
The journalist wrote in the print edition of the Mail on Sunday [3 December, pg 102] that Clement could face the same fate as his predecessors as questions will be asked should his team fail to win in those games.
It is reported that while it may seem unfeasible to ask questions of Clement after he arrived in October, attitudes can change quickly at Ibrox.

Too early for sack talk
We haven’t even reached two months since Clement was appointed for the top job at Rangers, and while there have been a couple of frustrating results against Aberdeen and Aris in recent weeks, we should still be far away from talk such as this.
A defeat in the Viaplay Cup final and failure to progress from their Europa League group will, of course, come as an enormous frustration for Rangers, but until that happens there is no need to speculate.
The culture of looking for a negative is what has seen so many bosses come and go at Ibrox and, rightly or wrongly, there has been plenty of change at the top through desperation of chasing trophies and chasing Celtic. Rangers need to be winning – but trust needs to be kept in the boss.

Any talk of this nature should be squashed for now, and in the event they do lose both of those crucial games then it will of course begin again, but after less than two months in charge and an overall strong start, Clement has earned time to build and grow.
