Ally McCoist takes subtle dig at Rangers duo in Ianis Hagi admission
Ally McCoist has taken a subtle dig at two Rangers players as he made reference to Ianis Hagi ahead of the Europa League clash.
Gers ended up drawing 1-1 to Aris Limassol on 30 November, and McCoist stated that the Romania international would be starting ahead of a couple of players.
Over the summer, the 25-year-old was deemed not good enough and was loaned out to Deportivo Alaves.

“(Ianis Hagi) would certainly start in my side ahead of one or two this evening,” McCoist told TNT Sports during their live coverage (30 November, 8pm).
“I’m just trying to give you an honest answer. No getting away from it.”
Probably not
Respectfully disagreeing with Ally McCoist, bringing Hagi back to Rangers might not be the instant solution he envisions.
While the Romanian showcased glimpses of talent last season, he failed to consistently make a significant impact.
Additionally, his loan spell at Deportivo Alaves has not been overly impressive, with just one assist in 10 league games, raising questions about his current form and adaptability.

McCoist’s critique of Sam Lammers and Jose Cifuentes, assuming these are the players he’s talking about, might be valid, but Hagi’s return doesn’t guarantee an immediate improvement, considering his past struggles and injury-prone nature.
The team might benefit more from addressing the current challenges strategically and exploring alternative options, rather than relying solely on Hagi’s return, which could be a gamble based on recent performances and fitness concerns.
Had he been doing well in Spain, an argument could’ve been made but there’s a good chance he’s played his final game for Gers.
In other Rangers news, the club are bound to face long-term sustainability issues amid a recent £11million development.
