Rangers: Chris Jack shares Philippe Clement transfer prediction ahead of January window
Philippe Clement is likely to take a different approach to his transfer business at Rangers compared to Michael Beale, according to Chris Jack.
The Belgian will no doubt be eager to add to the squad he inherited from Beale when taking over at Ibrox on 15 October.
However, as we gear up for the opening of the January window, journalist Jack does not believe Clement will be as open to discussing targets as his predecessor.
Speaking on The Rangers Review show [30 November, 26m 9s], Jack said: “I don’t think we’ll get a running commentary on [Clement’s] transfer business like we did with Michael Beale.
“He’s certainly not going to be as open in terms of what he wants or who he wants.
“It felt like Michael Beale’s press conferences were dominated by transfer talk for six or seven weeks before the end of last season, through the summer and the first few weeks of this season – it was the only topic of conversation.
“I don’t think we’re going to get very far in terms of [Clement] standing up rumours.”
Transfer season upon us
Given the huge turnover of players at Ibrox in the summer, it seemed like every day there was either a new player being linked with a move to the club or a move away.
January is expected to be far quieter than the summer months, although that is not to say Clement will not be backed to bring in a new player, possibly at the expense of another being moved on.

With December now upon us, we can expect to see plenty of names mentioned as possible targets for the Gers.
However, Clement would be wise to just quietly let the club go about its business and not discuss any transfer activity in public, unlike Beale.
Gers fans would of course love to know who we are looking to bring in and freshen up the squad, but getting a deal over the line smoothly is the priority.
Only by leaving the talking to those with the authority to sign off on deals will that be the case.
In other Rangers news, a presenter believes the Gers could force Brendan Rodgers out of Celtic if a certain development happens.
