Rangers have chance to sign Kartal Yilmaz as Barcelona dream revealed
Besiktas midfielder Kartal Yilmaz, who dreams of joining FC Barcelona, has revealed that Rangers wanted to sign him as well in the summer they brought Ridvan Yilmaz to the club.
Kartal, also a Turkish player, is currently on loan at Kayserispor as he aims to break into the national side.
The 23-year-old has made his Europa League debut back in 2019 and does appear to have plenty of European dreams.

Speaking to Hurriyet, the midfielder said, “At that time, Glasgow Rangers was also interested in me after Rıdvan Yılmaz. I know this personally, but the transfer did not take place at that time because some conditions were not met.
“Of course, time will tell what will happen next. I believe that I will achieve my European dream as soon as possible. I want to play for Barcelona in La Liga one day.”
Yilmaz’s mention of Rangers’ previous interest and the unfulfilled transfer suggests that a move to Ibrox might still be a possibility in the future.
The fact that Rangers were interested in him previously indicates they see potential in his talent.
Additionally, their participation in the Europa League enhances the club’s appeal for Yilmaz.

The Europa League provides a platform for exposure on the European stage, allowing Yilmaz to showcase his skills to a broader audience and potentially catch the attention of bigger clubs, including Barcelona.
Moving to Ibrox could serve as a stepping stone for Yılmaz towards achieving his European dream, especially with the added visibility and competition that comes with playing in competitions like the Europa League.
With Ryan Jack’s injury record, Jose Cifuentes’ injury and Steven Davis potentially retiring at the end of the season, it makes sense for Philippe Clement to keep tabs on Yilmaz.
In other Rangers news, a player is now in a ‘Worse’ situation than before as surgery is unavoidable, according to exclusive coverage by an injury expert.
