Todd Cantwell to pay the price as Philippe Clement makes two changes – Predicted Rangers XI v Aris Limassol

Rangers manager Philippe Clement will be forced into at least one change for Thursday’s (30 November) Europa League clash with Aris Limassol due to Connor Goldson being suspended.

Leon King, a player with Champions League experience, is a contender to slot into the side in place of Goldson in a match that Rangers must win to keep their knockout hopes in their own hands.

However, King has not been given a look-in under Clement, and it is therefore more likely that John Souttar will come into the starting line-up alongside Ben Davies.

Rangers

Ridvan Yilmaz has not been registered in the Gers’ European squad, but Borna Barisic is fit to start at left-back, while James Tavernier is a certainty on the opposite flank, as is Jack Butland in goal.

Rabbi Matondo returned to action as a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw at Aberdeen at will be pushing for a first start in over two months, but Abdallah Sima seems a more likely choice on the left.

John Lundstram and Jose Cifuentes look solid bets to retain their places in the engine room, although Ryan Jack is among those pushing for inclusion.

Clement has a big call to make on the right-hand flank, meanwhile, as Todd Cantwell has struggled for form and disgraced himself with his antics against Aberdeen.

GersvAris

That could open the way for Ross McCausland to start for the first time in the Europa League, having only recently made his full debut in the Scottish Premiership.

In terms of who plays off first-choice striker Danilo, who should get the nod over Cyriel Dessers, Tom Lawrence is back to fitness and is a better option there than the ineffective Sam Lammers.

In other Rangers news, a former Ibrox figure has opened up on his “very nasty” exit from the club.
