Sky Sports pundit issues Celtic admission ahead of Rangers v Aberdeen
Kris Boyd has made a Celtic admission ahead of the Rangers v Aberdeen clash over the weekend which he expects to be a feisty encounter.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that the Aberdeen fans have a special hatred towards Gers – unlike any other club in Scotland.
This is why he feels Philippe Clement will have to get something special from his players in order to get the win.

He wrote in the Scottish Sun on 24 November, “They [Aberdeen] absolutely make life harder for Rangers. It’s because their supporters have more of a vitriolic hatred of Rangers than they have for any other club. Celtic included.
“Ryan Jack and Scott Wright get booed every time they touch the ball up there, yet Jonny Hayes and Ryan Christie went back as Celtic players without a problem.
“Let’s wait and see what Philippe Clement thinks after the final whistle at Pittodrie. But I’ll bet he’ll see his side have to work much, much harder than other teams do for anything they get from their 90 minutes.
“It’ll be the same in the Viaplay Cup final too, when the two teams go head to head at Hampden.
“Unfortunately, there might be some Aberdeen season-ticket holders who miss that game because their club were unable to sell their allocation to the right people. What a blunder that was.”
Bring it on
Boyd’s mention of Celtic and insight into the intense rivalry between Aberdeen and Rangers should undoubtedly excite Gers fans ahead of the clash.
The acknowledgement that Aberdeen fans harbour a special hatred for the 55-time champions, surpassing even that for Celtic, adds an extra layer of anticipation to the encounter.
Boyd’s emphasis on the challenges that Aberdeen supporters pose to Rangers players underscores the passionate and heated atmosphere that will likely engulf Pittodrie.

The expectation that Clement’s side will have to work much harder than other teams further intensifies the competitive narrative.
The historical context provided by Boyd, comparing the reception of former Rangers and Celtic players at Aberdeen, heightens the drama surrounding the fixture.
With the Viaplay Cup final on the horizon, Rangers supporters can anticipate an emotionally charged battle, relishing the prospect of their team overcoming the unique challenges posed by Aberdeen’s fervent fanbase to secure a crucial victory.
