Ross McCausland agrees new Rangers contract, to be signed in next 48 hours – Fabrizio Romano
Ross McCausland will sign a new four-year contract with Rangers in the next 48 hours after agreeing terms, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (25 November), the reliable transfer journalist reports that terms have been agreed on a deal until June 2027.
A new contract for the young winger was seen as a priority after Philippe Clement came into the club, and it’s now seen as “done and sealed” with pen to be put on paper early next week.
“EXCL: Rangers top talent Ross McCausland has agreed to sign new long term deal until June 2027,” he wrote.
“Done and sealed, set to be signed in the next 24/48h. New deal was priority for the club after Ross impressed attracting big clubs and also made his international debut.”
Amazing news
That is absolutely fantastic news for Rangers and for Clement, as it shows he is being trusted and backed by the board in his decision making.
McCausland was on the brink of a breakthrough but since Clement’s arrival he has become a regular member of the match day squad, starting against Livingston and even making his international debut for Northern Ireland as a result.

There was interest from the likes of Brentford in the Premier League, which would have been hard to convince him to ignore, and we would only have been entitled to a tiny £350,000 compensation fee.
Tying him down secures his long-term future at Ibrox, but it also ensures we have a top young talent on the books for the next four years and if he doesn’t quite make it here we have the leverage to at least ensure that we can get a reasonable fee to move him on.
But McCausland has a big future at this club and it’s great to see he is committed to the project that is underway.
