Rangers transfer news: ‘100%’ update on Ryan Kent return emerges
Rangers are “100% not interested” in bringing Ryan Kent back to the club amid links to a return from Fenerbahce, according to This Is Ibrox.
The Gers-focused outlet reported via Twitter on 24 November that the English winger is definitely not a target ahead of the January transfer window, after suggestions that he could be set to leave the Turkish giants on loan already [Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, 15 November].
Kent left Ibrox on a free transfer in the summer after five years with the club, but has only started once in the Turkish Super Lig, back on 13 August.

Logical
It would be a significant surprise if Kent found himself back in Glasgow any time soon given the way his time at the club fizzled out just a matter of months ago.
Although it was often suggested during his Rangers career that he should have had a greater impact it can’t be denied that he was one of the most dangerous parts of the Light Blues’ attack in recent years.
But if he had wanted to remain at Ibrox longer-term then he surely would have signed a contract extension long ago, and when the club were supposed to be moving forward from the squad that underachieved last season it might portray the wrong message to bring him back.

Philippe Clement will surely be looking to strengthen in the New Year with whatever budget the club can come up with for him.
But since that isn’t expected to be extensive in light of Michael Beale’s overhaul in the summer which hasn’t worked, it seems pretty unlikely that the manager would be ready to use much of it on what would surely be a stop-gap.
In the unlikely eventuality that Kent has had a complete change of heart and is interested in committing his prime years to Rangers, and Fenerbahce are prepared to let him go for cheap, then perhaps it would be a viable signing for Clement to include him long-term plans, but the chances of that have to be remote at best.
