Derek Clark questions what Sam Lammers is doing in Rangers training, Philippe Clement ‘sees something in him’

Rangers manager Philippe Clement “sees something” in attacker Sam Lammers, according to journalist Derek Clark.

Clark has, however, questioned what the player is doing in Gers training amid his regular presence on the pitch under Clement.

Lammers was signed by Clement’s predecessor Michael Beale in the summer transfer window, joining from Italian club Atalanta.

“I would like to see Todd Cantwell start centrally against Aberdeen, however it remains to be seen,” Clark said on The Rangers Review (24 November).

“I know the manager does like Sam Lammers, he sees something in him. I’m not sure what he’s doing in training. Rangers need a big performance from him if he’s going to start at Pittodrie.”

Lammers start incoming?

Rangers take to the pitch for the first time following the international break with a trip to Pittodrie to take on Aberdeen on Sunday (26 November).

Clement has certainly had plenty of time to get to know the players now given the lack of club football recently, and it may just improve things on the pitch.

The Glasgow outfit are, however, going very strong under their new boss, with the club turning a corner since the sacking of Beale.

It is certain to be a tough test against the Dons, who will be keen to upset the visitors as they look to close the gap on fierce rivals Celtic.

With 23 appearances in all competitions, Lammers has been favoured by both Beale and Clement, although he is yet to really kickstart his Ibrox career given how he has scored just two goals in that time.

It is simply not good enough for an attacking player, with the man in the dugout hoping Lammers can net a rare goal at Pittodrie.

In other Rangers news, one Gers sensation is now undroppable for both club and country as a Beale failure is underlined.
