Aberdeen star Graeme Shinnie hits back at what Sky Sports pundit said about Rangers live on TV
Aberdeen’s Graeme Shinnie has responded to ‘harsh’ criticism and sent out a warning to Rangers following the club’s humiliating 6-0 defeat to Celtic as the side hope to move out of the relegation spots.
Following the 6-0 thrashing at Celtic Park, where Celtic scored three injury-time goals to deal the final blows to Aberdeen, Kris Boyd launched into a scything attack on the sorry visitors, also mentioning their upcoming fixture against Rangers.
It was suggested that Shinnie and his teammates always raise their game against Rangers, having bettered the 55-time Scottish Premiership winners in two out of the last three meetings. However, this was quickly squashed by Shinnie, speaking to Aberdeen Live: “I think the manager can get us up for any game, especially after that (Celtic loss).

“As players, if you don’t want to make amends for that then you are in the wrong sport.
“We are all looking forward to the game on Sunday but it wouldn’t matter who it was against. We will have had a good week to prepare for it, which we haven’t had between games a lot this season. We are looking forward to it.”
A subtle warning
Rangers will be hoping to close the gap on leaders Celtic on Sunday 26 November, but this may not be a simple task with Aberdeen out for revenge.
December 2022 was the last time Rangers were next up for Aberdeen after a Celtic loss, and the Gers managed a 3-2 victory in what was an exciting game at the Pittodrie Stadium, with Scott Arfield scoring two late goals to spare the away side’s blushes.

Rangers can absolutely take solace in this, especially with Aberdeen already losing five games this season, with just 11 played.
Philippe Clement and his side will still need to be wary of the home side, however. Recent results dictate that an upset could be on the cards, and with Aberdeen looking to rectify what happened in their previous game, it could be a feisty affair at the Pittodrie Stadium.
It is still all to play for in the Scottish Premiership. Although a loss to a wounded Aberdeen could see the Gers fall 11 points behind Celtic, if the Bhoys are able to defeat Motherwell the day before.
In other Rangers news, Nicolas Raskin’s former coach has tipped the Belgian to thrive at Ibrox in the future.
