Arthur Numan sends Rangers warning ahead of ‘intimidating’ clash v Aberdeen
Rangers should be ready for a “backlash” from Aberdeen when they face them on Sunday (26 November), according to Arthur Numan.
Writing in his 5Stars column on Wednesday (22 November), the former Gers defender said Barry Robson and the Dons players should feel “embarrassed” after their 6-0 loss to Celtic on 12 November.
The Dutchman added the home supporters inside Pittodrie will look to make it an “intimidating” atmosphere as they want to beat the Light Blues “more than any other side”, but he believes Philippe Clement has his team in a “good place” ahead of the trip to the north coast.

“Rangers should be ready for a backlash from Aberdeen on Sunday,” said Numan. “Barry Robson and his players will be hurting and should feel embarrassed after losing 6-0 to Celtic before the international break.
“But Philippe Clement will make sure that his team can cope with anything that the home side throws at them. Going to Pittodrie is never easy, and I feel that the Aberdeen supporters try their best to make it as intimidating as possible.
“Their fans want to see their team beat us more than any other side, and I include Celtic in that. However, that shouldn’t matter to us. We should take care of ourselves and make sure we give everything to head back down the road with the three points in the bag. Philippe has the team in a good place and heading in the right direction.”
Raring to go
The Rangers players should be fresh and raring to go once the game against Aberdeen comes around on the back of the international break.
Clement will now be assessing his players who have been away with their countries over the past week or so as he looks to pick up another victory following an impressive start to life at Ibrox.
The Dons will be motivated to put things right after their humbling defeat against Celtic to potentially make it a difficult afternoon for the Gers.

They will know fully well that the hosts do have quality in their ranks after a 3-1 defeat to the same opposition saw the end of Michael Beale’s time at the club less than two months ago.
It will be interesting to see what side the new Light Blues boss opts for at Pittodrie as it could give an indication towards what his favoured starting lineup is after the two-week break.
