Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin suffered a Grade 3 ankle inversion which is what led to him being stretchered off, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he may be back post the international break, but is unlikely to be ready to return to the first team.
Gers take on Aberdeen next weekend and the Belgian midfielder is unlikely to feature in that game as he lacks match sharpness.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“If the post-international break return is true, it is a good update.
“Would likely mean a grade 3 inversion injury that is responding well to rehab.
“However, he’s likely to get some minutes in with the reserves first so he may not be ready for the first game right after the break.”
At the end of October, the 22-year-old was taken off the pitch against Hearts and many feared the worst that it could be a long-term injury.
However, a month later, there are talks about him being in contention to return which means that it’s not as bad as it looked like.
It could’ve been a muscle tear but it’s just been an inversion and Philippe Clement will eagerly be waiting for him to be available again.
