Ryan Kent could make Rangers return after transfer news drops today
Ryan Kent could be in line for a shock return to Rangers in January after transfer news has emerged from Turkey.
Sports Digitale journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu tweeted on Wednesday (15 November) that Fenerbahce are looking to send the 27-year-old out on loan once the transfer window comes around.
He added that a team from England and another from Scotland are keeping an eye on the winger’s situation, with the latter likely to be the Gers given his previous links to the club.
Kent spent four years at Ibrox after signing for the club from Liverpool in 2019 before going on to establish himself as one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership.
The Englishman scored 33 goals and laid on 56 assists in 218 appearances during his time in Glasgow, leading to speculation around his future in just about every transfer window.
But to the surprise of many, he was released at the end of last season when his contract came to an end despite registering three goals and 10 assists in 40 games throughout the campaign.
The winger then joined Fenerbahce on a free transfer in June after penning a four-year deal with the Turkish club, but it hasn’t so far been plain sailing for him in Istanbul.
He has only started one of the 12 Super Lig games since he joined the club, who are currently sitting at the top of league on goal difference.
Kent’s only goal for his new side came in a Europa Conference League qualifier against Zimbru Chisinau back in July, while he has notched two assists in his 14 appearances.
That form hasn’t exactly endeared him to Fernbache manager Ismail Kartal or the club’s fans, meaning a January transfer could be on the cards.

Whether Philippe Clement would be genuinely interested in signing Kent is anyone’s guess, but with his knowledge of the club and the league, it could be something worth looking into.
The option of bringing him on loan, which the Turkish side are believed to be open to, may be of interest to the Gers as that would make it a relatively low-risk move for them.
The biggest issue standing in his way of making a return back to Ibrox could be the form of Abdallah Sima after the Senegalese winger has scored nine goals in 22 matches this season.
Clement is keen to have competition for places, though, and this really wouldn’t be a move that is completely out of the question if the opportunity does arise ahead of the January window.
