Injury Expert reveals worst-case scenario in recovery for Rangers attacker Rabbi Matondo

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...

Rangers attacker Rabbi Matondo may return to action after the international break from a knee injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that if he is on course, he will return to training during the break, having been out of action for the past few months.

There is also the possibility of him suffering a setback which could mean that he’ll miss a few weeks or even months in the worst-case scenario.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

If he is back after the break, he will likely return to training over the international break.

He will be gradually re-integrated considering how long he’s been out for.

Difficult to say on the worst case because that would be a recurrence or another injury while building up fitness and he could be out for months.

Matondo has played 169 league minutes this season – having made two starts and three more appearances off the bench.

He’s bagged one goal and provided two assists and will have to fight for his place once he returns to full fitness.

His last appearance was against Motherwell in September where he provided an assist and played just 38 minutes of that game.
