Rangers defender Jack Harkness is in a worse situation now after a reoccurring hamstring injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The 19-year-old, who’s out on loan at Morton, suffered a setback minutes before making his debut for his new club.

The club’s official website stated at the end of October that surgery was unavoidable after a setback in an injury he sustained previously as well.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

The grade is likely 2 but a recurrence will always be worse because there’s already previously existing damage and that player’s fitness level will have a bigger dent due to not playing.

“He’s also eyeing a December training return but the club will have to be more careful with him given the past history.

No official work has been made by the club that the teenager has returned to Glasgow for his recovery but that is a fair assumption to make.

It remains to be seen if Rangers look to sanction another loan for him once the window opens at the start of the new year.
