BBC host names Rangers duo in Team of the Week after win v Livingston
Jonathan Sutherland has named Leon Balogun and Tom Lawrence in his Team of the Week after their performances for Rangers against Livingston on Sunday (12 November).
Writing on the BBC Sport website on Monday (13 November), the Sportscene host said Nigerian international Balogun put in another “highly assured performance” for the Gers in their 2-0 victory after the 35-year-old defender has enjoyed a “renaissance” at the club in recent weeks.
He also included the 29-year-old Lawrence in his best side from the weekend’s action after the attacking midfielder “showed his class” having overcome his injury issues.

Deserved
It was certainly a deserved selection for the Rangers duo after they were both excellent in their side’s comfortable victory over Livingston.
Lawrence played a key role in helping the Gers take the lead after he played a superb through ball into the path of Cyriel Dessers to open the scoring.
The midfielder will now be looking to continue building up his fitness as he aims to play an important part in the Light Blues’ push for trophies this season.

Balogun was equally as impressive in the heart of the defence as he barely gave the hosts’ forward a sniff and won the majority of his duels.
After previously filling nothing more than a space on the bench under Michael Beale, the centre-back has emerged as an important player under Philippe Clement and he’ll be looking to keep his performance levels high moving forward.
