Pundit shares what he’s heard behind-the-scenes about Philippe Clement at Rangers

Kris Boyd has made a behind-the-scenes revelation at Rangers after Philippe Clement took over at the helm in October.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Boyd revealed that people at the training ground are on edge and that he’s brought about confidence.

The results since he’s taken charge have improved and so have the performances, with a distinct brand of football being brought to the table.

Boyd said on 12/11 at 11:20 am: “I think he oozes confidence, he knows exactly the points he wants to get across.

“From what I’ve heard, everybody around the training centre is on edge and you’ve got to have that – you don’t know if you’re coming or going, and the performances and getting wins under the belt help.”

Great start

Clement needed a start like this after Michael Beale’s era ended in shambles.

There was no distinct style of play and the players did not look like they were playing for each other.

Rangers

In games which Rangers should’ve been winning comfortably, they struggled to get goals and barely scraped through results.

It was clear that a change of manager was needed and it always was about who the club ended up bringing through the door.

Beale looked like the right appointment at the time but was anything but as his reign unravelled, it was clear to everyone that he was not cut out for the job.

Clement’s managed to bring about changes pretty early in his tenure and hopefully, things continue to improve and the board backs him in the transfer market as well.
