Keith Jackson makes Rangers v Livingston prediction for Daily Record

Keith Jackson has made his prediction ahead of Rangers clash with Livingston, suggesting that Philippe Clement’s side will continue to build their “serious momentum.”

The Light Blues travel to the Tony Macaroni Arena on Sunday (12 November) in a bid to continue their unbeaten start under the management of the Belgian and Jackson believes that the Gers will have too much quality for Livingston.

Rangers come into the clash off the back of an exceptional Europa League win over Sparta Prague and while the home side’s plastic pitch could pose a problem, the Daily Record journalist believes that Clement’s side will come out on top.

Writing in the Daily Record (11 November, page 62) he said: “Can’t see it. As much as Livingston are struggling for form, Rangers go into this one on a high.

“Yes the plastic pitch will be a leveller as it always is but Philippe Clement is building some serious momentum as he heads to West Lothian.”

Carry on the run

Rangers have got their season up and running since Clement arrived in Glasgow after a difficult start to the campaign under Michale Beale and Sunday’s trip to Livingston offers the perfect chance for the Gers to cap off a good run.

Livingston have struggled so far this season, only winning two of their opening 11 Premiership matches and while the plastic pitch can cause teams problems, there is enough talent in this Rangers side to pick up all three points even on that service.

Rangers

Earlier this season in the Viaplay Cup, Rangers blew Livingston away with a 4-0 win and while that was in a different competition under the management of a different coach, the Light Blues should take plenty of confidence into Sunday’s match. If they could win under Beale, they should with Clement.

The poor start has left Rangers chasing Celtic and they are now relying on the Hoops to drop points in their hunt for the Scottish Premiership title. If they want to keep the pressure on Brendan Rodgers’ side, winning against teams like Livingston will be crucial.
