Scott Wright shares injury update after Rangers Europa League win v Sparta Prague
Scott Wright has offered Rangers supporters an injury update, suggesting the injury that ruled him out of the clash with Sparta Prague isn’t “too serious.”
The 26-year-old missed the Light Blues 2-1 win over Sparta Prague on Thursday (9 November) as goals from Danilo and Todd Cantwell ensured that Philippe Clement’s side moved closer to the knockout stages even without the winger’s involvement.
Wright was a second-half substitute during the Light Blues’ Viaplay Cup semi-final win over Hearts but confirmed that he did pick up a knock in the closing stages of the game.

As quoted by the Daily Record (9 November) he said: “I took a little knock at the end of the semi-final, nothing too serious but gutted to miss the nights under the lights at Ibrox.
“It was a fresh slate under the new manager, I have been given an opportunity and I’m trying to grab it with two hands.”
Back soon
It seems as though it won’t be long before we see Wright lining up at Ibrox once again as the 26-year-old seems fairly confident that his current injury won’t see him restricted to the sidelines for an extended period, which will be a huge boost to Rangers and their supporters.
Few would have expected the Ibrox crowd to be frustrated by the winger’s absence on European nights during the summer transfer window, where it looked likely that Wright would be departing Glasgow with little fanfare given the influx of attacking talent.
But having found his way back in the side under Michael Beale, before he was sacked, Wright is taking the second chance afforded to him following Clement’s arrival and thriving in the Belgian’s side, his finish against Hearts at Hampden the perfect example of just what he can do for this side.

He may not be one of the first names on the team sheet at Ibrox, yet Wright has been integral to the excellent start to life under the management of Clement and he looks like a completely different player to the one supporters saw at the beginning of the campaign.
Now he has the perfect opportunity to get himself fit once again as the November international break looms after the Gers’ clash with Livingston on Sunday (12 November).
