Philippe Clement shares Rangers injury news v Livingston with triple update
Philippe Clement has shared a new Rangers injury update on the fitness of three players ahead of the Light Blues’ clash with Livingston.
The Gers’ boss confirmed in his press conference on Friday (10 November) that all three of Rabbi Matondo, John Souttar and Nicolas Raskin are expected to return to action following the November international break, so will miss the trip to Livingston.
Clement did suggest that there was a chance that Scott Wright could play a part in Sunday’s (12 November) clash, with the Belgian “unsure” whether he would be fit in time. However, the Rangers manager was “hopeful” that the winger would return to action after the international break.
Speaking in his press conference (10 November) he said: “I expect Rabbi Matondo back after the international break, John Souttar and Nico Raskin – so there will be more competition.
“We are unsure about Scott Wright for the weekend, but we are hopeful for after the break.”
Welcome return
It has perhaps been lost in Clement’s excellent start with Rangers just how many players the Belgian has been without, with some crucial names ruled out with injury for the majority of the unbeaten streak with which he’s begun his tenure.
Matondo had begun to find his feet before his injury derailed his season and many were sipping him to be one of the standout stars of the Rangers side this year. So far, Clement has been unable to work with the 23-year-old who last featured all the way back in September.

Raskin has been a regular in the middle of the park whenever he has been fit and will have been a huge miss even though Ryan Jack and John Lundstram have impressed in midfield during the Belgian’s absence, while the return of Souttar will provide some much-needed defensive depth.
Clement couldn’t have got off to a much better start to life in Glasgow and hopefully, that will continue when the Light Blues face Livingston on Sunday. Then the Belgian will have two weeks to spend with almost a fully fit side to really get to work on the tactical side of the game.
After a bleak start to the season, it finally feels as though things are starting to go Rangers’ way in recent weeks.
In other Rangers news, Derek Ferguson has been left baffled by Clement’s decision to continue to select Sam Lammers
