AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has sent a message to Rangers star Danilo after he helped the Gers defeat Sparta Prague 2-1.

The striker and Todd Cantwell scored the goals in the Europa League group stage encounter on Thursday (9 November).

Ibrox hosted the European meeting, with the Gers now sitting second in Group C, two points behind leaders Real Betis.

Summer signing Danilo put the hosts ahead after just 11 minutes, with Cantwell netting nine minutes later as Sparta’s Lukas Haraslin scored a late consolation goal.

Danilo took to Instagram to celebrate the goal and win, with AC Milan midfielder Reijnders among those sending him messages of congratulations.

Huge win

It was a superb display from Philippe Clement’s men in front of their own fans, with the hosts making a rapid start to the European clash.

Haraslin’s 77th-minute strike will have certainly worried the majority inside Ibrox, but the men in blue held on for a massive win.

They are now three points ahead of Sparta in the group with two games remaining, and two points behind Betis, having defeated the Spanish side 1-0 back in September.

Plenty of hard work is, of course, still needed to secure qualification to the knockout stages, with a home test against Aris Limassol and a very tricky away test with Betis remaining.

But the Scottish side are now in a strong position to make it out, with Danilo once again key to another three points for the Gers.

After plenty of initial struggles, the summer arrival is really thriving under Clement, with fans beginning to see the best of him.

In other Rangers news, the SPFL has defended a Gers decision as Aberdeen rage, according to BBC Sport.
