Leon Balogun axed as Ben Davies starts – Confirmed Rangers XI v Sparta Prague

Philippe Clement has made one change to his Rangers starting lineup for the big Europa League clash with Sparta Prague at Ibrox.

Nigerian defender Leon Balogun is ineligible for the game after being left out of the list for European competition by Michael Beale, so he is replaced by Ben Davies in the centre of defence.

Ryan Jack and John Lundstram keep their places in midfield ahead of Jose Cifuentes, with an unchanged attack from the League Cup semi-final win over Hearts at the weekend.

Robby McCrorie, Kieran Wright, Adam Devine, Leon King and Ross McCausland are all named on the bench, while Kemar Roofe returns to the squad as expected.

Momentum

There are no real shocks in the starting lineup, and Rangers fans will be expecting a big performance from the players selected after recent form.

Clement has come in and really shaken things up in recent weeks, getting us back to the level of somewhat expectancy when we go up against other good teams.

Rangers

We’re scoring a lot of goals at the moment, creating a lot of chances, keeping the ball well and also defending better than we have been all season and the performance levels have certainly risen.

Now we absolutely must continue that because anything but a win in this game will make qualification to the next round of the Europa League incredibly difficult after losing in Cyprus and drawing away in Prague.

Our home form is super important and we all know that Ibrox can be a fortress, so the players and fans need to do their part tonight to get a win and keep the momentum rolling over.
