Simon Jordan makes Rangers manager admission after what Graeme Souness told him
Simon Jordan has delivered his verdict after what Graeme Souness told him about the new Rangers manager, being part of the interview process.
The talkSPORT host was told by the former Ibrox midfielder and manager that Frank Lampard was his go to man to succeed Michael Beale.
However, he wasn’t convinced by that assessment and feels that Philippe Clement was the better option, even though he’s taken a backwards step.

He told talkSPORT, as quoted by Football Scotland, “I looked at (Clement’s) record and I thought he had a pretty decent record actually. I actually think moving to Rangers is possibly (a step down) in argument terms.
“Not in terms of the scale of the club but the quality of the league, a little bit of a step sideways if not down.
“Souness was interesting the other day. As much as I take a lot of what Graeme says at face value because it’s Graeme, his argument for Lampard doing the job is he still has the hunger and ambition. So bleeding what? Has he got the capability?”
Reached the right decision
It’s fair to state that Rangers will not be looking to take Souness’ views now before making any major decisions.
There is no justification for why Lampard would’ve been the better choice as he’s just failed since his Derby County stint.
He might have had the one good season at Chelsea but once the pressure was on after new signings, he definitely did not deliver the goods.

Lampard also failed to meet expectations while managing Everton and his second stint at Chelsea was one of the most disastrous managerial spells of all time.
Clement’s track record is pretty impressive and Gers should be delighted that they’ve got the Belgian at the helm at Ibrox.
Only time will tell whether or not they’ve made the right decision but as things stand, it does seem like that.
In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has claimed that a Gers first-team player will jump at the chance to leave Ibrox as a transfer story has emerged recently.
