Rangers January transfer priority emerges as scouts begin hard work

Rangers are prioritising signing a winger after missing out on Luis Palma in the summer, who ended up joining Celtic, according to TEAMtalk.

The media outlet reported on 7 November that scouts have been working hard in Europe in order to find the ideal player for Philippe Clement.

The Gers board is also set to back the Belgian in his quest to build this side in his philosophy.

Makes sense

A wide attacker has to be the priority this summer and it was a real surprise that one wasn’t signed over the summer.

With Ryan Kent leaving, one would’ve thought that the first thing they would do is find someone who can replace him.

Even Fashion Sakala left and Rabbi Matondo, who can play out wide, is injured and weeks away from a return.

Rangers

Abdallah Sima has played out wide for Rangers and the likes of Todd Cantwell and Sam Lammers have too but they all prefer drifting inside.

Clement seems to want someone capable of hugging the touchline in order to stretch the opposition as much as possible.

Rangers’ scouting has not been anything to write home about in recent seasons and hopefully, the manager can use some of his connections and perhaps bring in a few players through the door in multiple positions over the next two windows.

In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has claimed that a Gers first-team player will jump at the chance to leave Ibrox as a transfer story has emerged recently.
