Delighted Abdallah Sima ‘loving’ it at Rangers as he reacts to latest positive news at Ibrox

Abdallah Sima has reacted to his SPFL Player of the Month award for October to declare he is “loving” life at Rangers and is “continuing to improve” at the club.

The on-loan Brighton forward, who arrived in the summer, posted on his personal Twitter account on 7 November to thank his teammates and the staff at Ibrox after the recognition, and was congratulated by official club partner Heart & Hand.

The Senegalese wide man scored three times in three appearances, all wins, in the Scottish Premiership through October.

Sima wrote: “I am loving my time at Rangers so far and I feel like I am continuing to improve on the pitch. That is thanks to my teammates and the staff here who support me to continue to reach my best level.”

In response, Heart & Hand said simply: “Well done”.

Stand-out

The struggles of the summer arrivals has been hard to ignore and ultimately cost Michael Beale his job but Sima has come good sooner than most.

Jack Butland has arguably been a success right from the start of the season but the loanee has since joined him as a real asset this term.

He appeared to be the only outfield player giving his all across the miserable weeks that ended Beale’s reign and saw Steven Davis head up an interim coaching team.

Rangers

At 22 and not even a permanent fixture at Rangers, yet, that was a great credit to him and reflected fairly poorly on a lot of his teammates.

The calls for him to be signed from Brighton long-term at the end of his loan will only increase if he keeps up his current form, and on the latest evidence he might be well-disposed to the idea.

Early in his time in Glasgow he may have suffered by association due to the struggles of Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers but he has since separated himself from the two multi-million pound buys, and with nine goals so far in all competitions he is increasingly impressive.

In other Rangers news, the latest controversy around the Light Blues has been slammed as “genuinely pathetic”.
