Billionaire Rangers director wants more to offer funds to seal targets ahead of January transfer window

John Halsted is keen to be more involved at Rangers and push the club onto the global stage, according to TEAMtalk.

The media outlet reported on 7 November that his worth is estimated to be $3.1billion and his wealth will be used to help the club achieve their targets this season.

The American investor was recently appointed as a director on the Gers board.

Money is always the issue at Ibrox and having someone like Halsted may help the club with their problems over the coming months.

A new manager means that fresh investment is going to be required and that could see him perhaps helping out with new signings as well.

There have been talks about the expansion of selection Ibrox stands and those things certainly do not come cheap.

The fact that he wants a more hands-on role and is keen to be involved in the decision-making means that he’s open to loosening the purse strings.

Rangers have opted for a self-sustaining model in the past few seasons and it remains to be seen how Halsted’s influence changes that.

These undoubtedly are exciting times for fans as it’s a completely new look at the club given the change of board and coaches.

In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has claimed that a Gers first-team player will jump at the chance to leave Ibrox as a transfer story has emerged recently.
