Andy Halliday makes bizarre revelation from Rangers v Hearts

Andy Halliday has made a bizarre revelation from the Rangers clash v Hearts which saw the former securing a 3-1 victory on Sunday, 5 November.

The Tynecastle midfielder was an unused substitute but had an incident involving the fourth official David Dickinson

Dickinson took a ball off him as he was doing keepy-ups and was told he was not allowed to do that.

Discussing this “bizarre” incident, he told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, as quoted by the Glasgow Times, “I was just sitting doing some keepy-ups at the side of the pitch.

“I quite fancied a touch of the ball, I’ve not had one for a couple of months by the way so I thought I would do a bit of ball work, a few keepy-ups.

“Next thing the fourth official grabbed the ball off me and said: ‘You can’t do that’.

“I thought ‘Fair enough’ and went and sat down.”

Baffling

It was certainly a bizarre moment and it perhaps would’ve gone under the radar had Halliday not mentioned this.

Surely, a player doing something on the touchline that is not impacting the game, should not be warned for it.

Regardless, Rangers fans will not care too much about that as their side’s performance was spectacular and they ended up getting the three points too.

They played good football and these were early signs of what Clement wants to achieve at the club in his tenure at Ibrox.

Certain players are certainly not up to the mark and they need to be brought up to task, but apart from that, there’s very little to criticise from his initial days.

Obviously, games against Celtic and the Europa League will determine just how far he’s taken this Rangers side.

In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has claimed that a Gers first-team player will jump at the chance to leave Ibrox as a transfer story has emerged recently.
