Kris Boyd names Rangers duo and Celtic trio in SPFL and Viaplay Cup Team of the Week

Kris Boyd has named a Rangers duo and a Celtic trio in his SPFL and Viaplay Cup Team of the Week for the games over the past few days.

James Tavernier has been named as the star player, particularly for his brilliant goal against Hearts, while his teammate Leon Balogun also was included.

For Celtic, Luis Palma, David Turnbull and Liam Scales were the ones to make the cut.

The Scottish Sun shared his team on Twitter.

Good display

It was a comprehensive win for Rangers and it would’ve been 3-0 had they not conceded a late penalty to Hearts.

Philippe Clement certainly will have been delighted with the performance from most if not all his players in the middle.

This was arguably the best Gers performance since he’s taken charge and the fans have every reason to be optimistic about it.

Rangers

It was a big game in the Viaplay Cup and he’ll certainly want to win his first piece of silverware as soon as possible at his new club.

They even played some exciting football and this is the right way to win fans over at this juncture in his managerial tenure.

Hopefully, he can guide them to a win there and then try to narrow the gap on Celtic in the SPFL.

In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has claimed that a Gers first-team player will jump at the chance to leave Ibrox as a transfer story has emerged recently.
