Injury Expert shares update on Danilo ahead of Rangers v Hearts Scottish League Cup clash

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...

Rangers striker Danilo may not be ready to play 90 minutes at a stretch and may not even in the Hearts game, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

Gers travel to Hampden Park to take on Hearts in the Scottish League on Sunday, 5 November, hoping to edge closer to their first piece of silverware under Philippe Clement.

Danilo has recently been out with a facial injury and started his first game against Dundee on 1 November, which Rangers won 5-0 and Clement says he’s still some way away from being at his best.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

Clement saying he’ll not be back to his 100 per cent for a bit is less about the facial injury itself and more of the fact that he’s missed game action which comes with a dent in fitness and loss in rhythm.

Additionally, he may also need time to adapt to wearing the mask and get the injury out of the back of his mind.

“Playing 90 minutes at a stretch is something that will gradually happen and he may not be ready for that yet.

The 24-year-old moved to Ibrox in the summer and has still not fully adapted to life in the United Kingdom.

He may have got four league goals, but he’s not yet nailed his spot in the starting eleven – making five league appearances off the bench and starting just three games.

He’s also played the full 90 minutes of a game just once – in the 4-0 win against Livingston back in August.

In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has claimed that a Gers first-team player will jump at the chance to leave Ibrox as a transfer story has emerged recently.
