Rangers: Sky Sports pundit details Danilo expectation at Ibrox after what happened v Dundee
Sky Sports pundit Mark Wilson expects Danilo to now continue as Philippe Clement’s first-choice striker at Rangers after again impressing against Dundee.
Danilo has scored in back-to-back games for the Gers for the first time since arriving in the summer, having followed up his dramatic winner against Hearts with a strike at Dens Park.
Cyriel Dessers dropped to the bench and, while he did he did also find the net as a second-half substitute against Dundee, former Celtic player Wilson believes he now has a fight on his hands winning back his place.

“It’s always great if you’re a player and in your first six games you’re man of the match in three of them, everything is rosy in the garden. The reality is, it’s very seldom like that,” Wilson told Sky Sports News [2 November, 10:44].
“When you go to a big club like Rangers with the microscope on you, and there’s a price tag that’s hanging over your head, it becomes that extra difficult.
“Dessers has taken a bit of time to settle, while Danilo looks a real handful – I think he’ll be Clement’s number one up top.”
Coming good
On the basis of the first couple of months of the season, Rangers spent a large amount of money in the summer on very little in terms of their attacking players.
Dessers, Danilo and Lammers each struggled to find their feet, but all three were on target in a morale-boosting win over Dundee.
Lammers still has a lot to do to prove himself, but at least Clement is starting to see some competition for places in the number nine position.

Dessers has stepped up under the Belgian, but Danilo looks a different player since returning from a head injury lay-off, coinciding with Michael Beale’s sacking and Clement’s appointment.
The 24-year-old has scored two goals in 147 minutes of action under Clement [WhoScored], with his start against Dundee just his third of the Scottish Premiership season.
Dessers cost £5.4million to sign from Cremonese [The Herald, 6 July] and was Beale’s go-to man up top, but Clement will pick his side based on who is performing best. And right now, that is Danilo.
