Rangers players ordered off pitch at Dundee by police due to security issue as footage emerges
Rangers and Dundee players were hauled off the pitch by referee Kevin Clancy due to a fire alarm going off at Dens Park, according to Kheredine Idessane.
The BBC Scotland journalist reported on BBC Sportsound on Wednesday night (1 November, 08:42pm) that police ordered the game to be paused due to an alarm going off as a result of Rangers fans lighting flares.
Kick-off in the Scottish Premiership game at Dens Park was already delayed by 45 minutes due to immense traffic issues on Tayside.
“We were talking about the smoke from pyrotechnics in the Rangers end,” said Idessane.
“My information is that has set off a fire alarm.
“The smoke has interfered with the internal systems here so there’s a security issue.
“They’re now re-assessing the security of the stadium.
“It was a police decision to take the players off.”

Mindless idiots
It’s time for these Rangers fans to grow up because a night of football is being absolutely ruined because of a childish infatuation with fireworks.
We’re playing against Dundee for goodness sake.
Kick-off had already been delayed for a very long time due to the traffic outside of the stadium causing Rangers’ team bus to not be able to arrive at Dens Park.
Philippe Clement’s squad had done the warm-up after their protracted journey to Tayside, got on the pitch to play and then finally kicked off.
Only for a bunch of mindless idiots to ruin it for everyone, including themselves.
The SFA need to get a handle on these pyrotechnics.
They can’t stop Celtic fans from taking flags into stadiums and they can’t stop people taking in fireworks and flares.
Where’s it going to stop?
