We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...
Rangers striker Danilo will continue to wear the mask until the injured area in his face is completely healed, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert does not feel that there’ll be a need for further treatment behind the scenes unless there is any swelling.
However, even if there is any swelling, it should not keep him out of action for the Dundee clash on 1 November.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“The timeline for him to play without the mask will likely be a combination of how bad the initial injury was and then if the player feels more confident wearing it, just to assuage any concerns in their head.
“There will likely not be any treatment unless he’s still having swelling in that area.
“However, he should be fine to play through it until the mask is on.“
Danilo moved to Rangers this summer and was one of the big-money acquisitions made under the stewardship of Michael Beale.
With Beale now gone, it’s on Philippe Clement to bring the best out of the Brazilian striker.
He’s played seven league games this season and has found the back of the net on three occasions for Gers.
It remains to be seen if Clement’s deploys him in a two-striker system or if he fancies playing him as the lone man up top.
In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has claimed that a Gers first-team player will jump at the chance to leave Ibrox as a transfer story has emerged recently.
