Sam Lammers produces yet another Rangers stinker v Hearts, Philippe Clement could bin him already in January
Sam Lammers was a surprise starter for Rangers as they narrowly managed to eke out a late 2-1 victory at home to Hearts on Sunday 29 October.
Hearts were on course to record a famous victory at Ibrox through Lawrence Shankland’s early header and James Tavernier’s surprise failure to convert a penalty in the first half.
However, it wasn’t until the 90th minute when Tavernier was given an opportunity to make amends with another spot-kick which he duly converted.

Danilo grabbed a dramatic stoppage-time winner just three minutes later to hand Philippe Clement and his men their second-consecutive win in the Scottish Premiership.
Clement extended his beaten run as Rangers manager to three games in all competitions as his side moved closer to Celtic following their goalless draw at Hibernian on Saturday, but the Belgian could well be majorly concerned over the continued struggles of Lammers.
Lammers has become an unfortunate scapegoat and symptom of the flailing Rangers attack at times this season and his woeful start to his Ibrox career continued once against Sparta Prague in midweek.
The former Sampdoria man failed to register a single key pass, won just two of his duels, and recorded just 38 touches in his 90 minutes on the pitch, dribbled past once and lost possession 10 times [SofaScore].

The 26-year-old Dutchman was then handed a surprise start for Sunday’s clash but simply failed to show the Belgian coach why he deserves them with yet another stinker before his withdrawal in the closing stages.
As per SofaScore, Lammers was deployed as a wide-man in Clement’s four-man attack against Hearts but failed to produce a single cross, recorded zero shots on target, registered zero key passes, missed one guilt-edged chance, won seven duels but lost possession 14 times and was dribbled past twice in another lacklustre display.
Certainly, Clement has a huge task on his hands moulding this Rangers team into strong title contenders but he may even have a much bigger task in turning around Lammers’ fortunes.
The Gers fans certainly aren’t happy with his performances right now:
With players like Abdallah Sima, Danilo and even Dessers getting in and amongst the scoresheet in recent games, Clement will probably look to axe Lammers for the game against Dundee on Wednesday, 1 November.
There’s also a good chance that once the window reopens in January, Gers will look to cash in on his services already.
