Chris Sutton picks Rangers star in Team of the Week after 2-1 win v Hearts

Chris Sutton has picked Rangers star John Lundstram in his SPFL Team of The Week following the victory over Hearts on Sunday (29 October).

The 29-year-old was the only Gers man the pundit selected as part of the weekend’s best players as two late goals secured a dramatic 2-1 at Ibrox.

The English midfielder put in a solid display as the Light Blues closed the gap on Celtic to just five points following their goalless draw with Hibernian on Saturday (28 October).

Tireless

Despite Sutton rather bizarrely picking Lundstram as a central defender in his Team of the Week, he definitely did play in midfield against Hearts.

It was a typically tireless performance from the Englishman in the middle of the park as he put in a number of challenges and looked to get on the ball.

He had 123 touches and recorded an 87 per cent pass accuracy, but he did pick up a yellow card as he won just two of his eight duels [SofaScore].

There is still more to come from the midfielder, but he showed signs that he could get back to his best after previously struggling for form this season.

Philippe Clement will have breathed a huge sigh of relief after his side showed great spirit to come from behind to claim the three points and he’ll now be looking to build on that.

In other Rangers news, the Gers were torn to shreds in a newspaper after squandering £8million.
