Burnley man Vitinho messages Danilo after Rangers winner v Hearts

Burnley defender Vitinho has sent a message to Danilo after he netted for Rangers in their 2-1 victory against Hearts.

The striker scored a dramatic 93rd-minute winner as the Gers defeated the Edinburgh club at Ibrox on Sunday (29 October).

Rangers captain James Tavernier was also on the scoresheet for the hosts, with Lawrence Shankland scoring for the visitors.

Danilo, who entered the pitch at half-time for fellow summer signing Cyriel Dessers, took to social media to celebrate the win.

Among those reacting to the player’s Instagram post was Danilo’s Brazilian compatriot and Burnley defender Vitinho.

Danilo has not had too many moments to celebrate during his Rangers career so far, with the summer signing struggling somewhat at Ibrox.

But he hasn’t been the only one, with fellow striker Abdallah Sima and goalkeeper Jack Butland perhaps the only summer signings to shine in blue so far.

Then manager Michael Beale brought nine new faces to the club in the recent transfer window, with such recruitment playing a major factor in his sacking earlier this month.

But new boss Philippe Clement has already turned things around in Glasgow, with two wins from two in the Scottish Premiership against Edinburgh rivals Hibernian and Hearts.

The man in the dugout also oversaw a hard-fought point against Sparta Prague in the Europa League, with the club’s playing out a goalless draw on Thursday (26 October).

It has been a turning point for the Ibrox side, and striker Danilo will be hoping that his goal against Hearts will also be a turning point for his spell there.

In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart has slammed a Gers man who “couldn’t lace” the boots of a player that Clement admires.
