Rangers: Kris Boyd slams Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers live on Sky Sports after draw v Sparta Prague
Kris Boyd has slammed Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers after another disappointing result for Rangers in the Europa League 0-0 draw with Sparta Prague.
Boyd has called for Danilo to be involved more from the start following his return from injury, with the two summer signings still not getting up to speed in a Rangers shirt.
The former Rangers man claimed that the result was ultimately a good point away from home, but the team will be looking for a better scoreline when Sparta travel to Ibrox on 9 November.

Boyd was speaking live on Sky Sports [26 October], as he assessed Rangers’ performance: “They [Rangers] didn’t start the game really well, and they looked all over the place with the back three to start with, but they did grow into it eventually.
“They’ll leave Prague with a point, they play Sparta Prague again in two weeks’ time and they will be looking at this game, if they play the way they finished the game, they can definitely get three points at Ibrox.
“It wasn’t the best of games, a good point on the road, but I’m just delighted I don’t need to watch any more of that,” he joked, “But you felt as if, as the game went on, Rangers were the team that was going to nick it.
“The plus point again was Danilo coming on, he had that shot that was saved onto the bar. He did look sharp when he came on, Rangers will need to get minutes into his legs because Lammers and Dessers… It’s not working for those two.”

A turn of form is needed quickly
Dessers’ goal against Hibernian started talk of a resurgence, but that came crashing back down to earth against Sparta Prague as he once again failed to affect the game.
He failed to have a single shot, completed just five of 11 attempted passes, completed just one of three attempted dribbles and won one of eight attempted duels, a rate of 12%. His struggles were clear to see, and it felt all too familiar. [Sofascore]
Lammers, meanwhile, was also ineffective, and Scottish newspapers were quick to criticise his display. Neither forward has been good enough during their time at Ibrox since arriving in the summer, and time is running out to show some improvement.
Danilo, meanwhile, has looked like he could be a threat under Philippe Clement. He changed the game from the bench in Prague and saw a shot well-saved onto the bar. If he can get his fitness up quickly he should be the first-choice number nine.
