Rangers attacker Sam Lammers must be axed v Hearts by Philippe Clement

Sam Lammers had another underwhelming game for Rangers in their 0-0 draw against Sparta Prague in the Europa League on 26 October.

Despite not showing up in recent league games, Philippe Clement still opted to play the Dutch attacker on the right side of the attack.

As many expected, he failed to get involved in most of the play and cut a frustrated figure during the contest.

Rangers

According to Sofascore, he completed just 70 per cent of his passes and did not put a single cross inside the box or complete a long pass.

He also lost possession 11 times which is not particularly impressive given the fact that he made just 37 touches.

This means that on many occasions when the ball came to him, he failed to do too much of it and that reflects in his key passes metric as well.

Playing in an attacking position, one would expect his passes to lead to something in the final third but that did not happen.

Rangers

He played 90 minutes and could register just one shot on target and missed what was arguably the chance of the game for Rangers.

The 26-year-old also lost 50 per cent of his ground and aerial duels and did very little to win back possession higher up the pitch.

If Clement is to employ a high pressing system and wants to see a better attacking display v Hearts on Sunday, 29 October, Lammers cannot be in the eleven.
