Ally McCoist reacts to ‘hilarious’ Rangers story shared by Alan Brazil
Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil couldn’t help themselves but crack up laughing as a Korean pop group turned up to their concert wearing 1990s Rangers shirts.
Brazil explained that the group, STAYC, were performing in Dallas, Texas, where they had intended to wear Texas Rangers shirts, but had bought a Glasgow Rangers kit instead.
McCoist couldn’t contain his laughter and commented that at least the group looked better in the shirt than himself, or former Rangers men Paul Gascoigne and Brian Laudrup.

The duo were live on talkSPORT [25 October] where Brazil told McCoist about the story: “STAYC were performing in Dallas, Texas as part of their US tour but instead of wearing local baseball team, Texas Rangers tops, the numpties – I mean, girls – appeared in 1990 kits worn by Glasgow Rangers, including Ally.”
McCoist was in hysterics when he responded: “It’s hilarious. How can you make a mistake like that? They’re clearly looking for Texas Rangers tops and they stick on Glasgow Rangers tops – I nearly cried laughing when I saw it.
“To be fair to the girls, they look a lot better in the strips than me, Gascoigne and Laudrup did back in the day. How do you make a mistake like that?”
McCoist is always a laugh
The duo of McCoist and Brazil is the perfect one to react to a story like this. Something so random and stupid that Ally’s contagious laugh just fits perfectly alongside it.
It’s a funny wardrobe malfunction, the idea of a Korean pop group turning up in the U.S.A. thinking they’d been clever with their choice of outfits only to leave the crowds confused because let’s be honest, there is a very low chance of any overlap between those two fanbases.

This, apparently, isn’t the first time a K-pop band has worn the shirt of a Glasgow football team. In 2018 two members of the boy band Stray Kids appeared wearing retro Celtic shirts in the music video for their song My Pace.
Perhaps they’ll do a show at Ibrox at some point? Brazil and McCoist would surely love to attend, although they would likely much prefer to stick to the football rather than enter that world.
