Abdallah Sima sends six-word message to Danilo after Rangers injury return v Hibernian

Abdallah Sima has sent a six-word message to Danilo after he returned from injury to play for Rangers against Hibernian.

The latter player had a spell on the sidelines after fracturing his cheekbone in the clash against St Johnstone last month.

He entered the pitch at Ibrox in the 81st minute against Hibs on Saturday (21 October), replacing fellow summer signing Cyriel Dessers.

Taking to Instagram to celebrate his return from injury, Danilo wrote: “Feels good to be back home. A special thanks to the medical team who took care of my injury. Finally on the field again after 5 weeks instead of 6… I feel really blessed.”

Among those commenting on the post was his Gers teammate and fellow forward Sima, who wrote: “Glad to have you back bro.”

Super display

Not all of Michael Beale’s summer signings have hit the ground running at Ibrox, and striker Danilo is definitely in that category.

But fellow recent arrivals Sima and Cyriel Dessers did manage to find the back of the net against Hibs, with the former scoring a brace.

Nicolas Raskin was also on target in the 4-0 victory, in what was the first match in charge for new manager Philippe Clement.

The Gers ran riot on home soil, much to the delight of their new boss and indeed the Ibrox faithful, who haven’t had many reasons to celebrate so far this season.

Everyone associated with the blue half of Glasgow will be desperate for such displays to continue in the months to come as they look to close the gap on league leaders and fierce rivals Celtic. The Bhoys boast a seven-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, with the Gers sitting in second.

In other Rangers news, Hibernian staff raged at a Clement incident in their 4-0 loss to the Gers, according to a BBC Sport journalist.
