Kenny Miller makes Rangers admission after what Philippe Clement said on taking top Ibrox job
Kenny Miller believes it is not a good recipe for success for Rangers to be sacking managers every 12 to 18 months.
Writing on the Daily Record website on Sunday (22 October), the BBC pundit said he is a big believer that continuity and stability are “far more aligned with success” after Philippe Clement emphasised those words on becoming the new Gers boss.
But he added that it needs to be backed up by results and that a balance needs to be struck, something Michael Beale struggled to achieve in the final stages of his time at Ibrox.

“It will be interesting to see how this side does evolve over the coming months,” said Miller. “Philippe has spoken about time, stability and continuity. I am a big believer that continuity and stability are far more aligned with success than firing managers every 10, 12 or 18 months. That is not a good recipe for success.
“As a manager, you need to back things up with results because you can’t keep losing or have lacklustre, substandard performances which Beale suffered with at the end. There has to be a balance and you have to strike it.”
Identity
One of the main things that Clement has to work on is bringing back an identity to this Rangers squad and build a team of winners.
The Gers haven’t had anywhere near enough success over the past few years after the past two managers really struggled to build any momentum and confidence within the team.
The appointment of Clement simply has to work out and, in fairness to the board, they took their time and were methodical about the kind of person they wanted to take over and how they plan to move forward.

But it’s all well and good putting those plans in place, now they have to stick to them and look to keep pushing and challenging everyone at the club to get better.
The Belgian is the latest man charged with bringing success and, while he has relevant experience that proves he could be the right person to turn things around, he has a big task on his hands.
