Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell issues injury update
Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell has issued a fitness update after missing recent weeks due to an injury on his knee sustained in September.
The 25-year-old appeared on the Beautiful Game Podcast on 15 October where he spoke about his plan on returning to first-team football.
He has stated that he plans to be fit for the game against Hibs which will be played on Saturday (21 October) at Ibrox.
Cantwell said, via Heart and Hand, “The plan is definitely to be back after the international break. It’s not been as smooth as I’d have liked and I can’t make any promises but the plan is to be back and fit for the Hibs game.”
Hope he returns soon
Rangers certainly will be missing Cantwell’s trickery in the middle of the park and will be hoping that he returns to action quickly.
Before signing him, a lot was made about his declining form for Norwich but he’s managed to silence his critics since moving to Ibrox.

He’s capable of playing in multiple positions and is certainly going to thrive under the stewardship of Philippe Clement.
It remains to be seen what system the Belgian chooses to deploy at Rangers but Cantwell is expected to be involved unless he suffers a massive dip in form.
Hopefully, he’s on track to return at the weekend and the club can then prepare to integrate him back into the team, maybe off the bench.
After a layoff of over a month, it’s unlikely that he’ll be thrown straight into the starting eleven.
