BBC pundit makes players hurting claim as Rangers announce Philippe Clement
Alex McLeish believes that the Rangers players will be hurting as Philippe Clement aims to turn around the fortunes of the club.
The ex Gers manager believes that the Belgian needs to give his side a cuddle in order to get them onside and focused for the rest of the season.
Clement was announced as the new Rangers manager on Sunday (15 October), succeeding Michael Beale at Ibrox.

He told the BBC: “Philippe has to impose himself in a positive way.
“A lot of these players will be hurting after what has happened in the last few weeks.
“I believe they need a wee cuddle, a firm cuddle, because we haven’t seen the individual quality we expected from the signings.”
Tough job
It’s never easy for a manager to take over this kind of a mess mid season but that’s what Clement has signed up for.
Hopefully, he gets the behind-the-scenes changes that he wants and things change for the better for Gers in the coming months.
A new sporting director is desperately needed at the helm and there have been talks about Paul Mitchell coming through the door.

If that happens, it could prove to be a blessing for Rangers as they are still to replace Ross Wilson who left for Nottingham Forest.
Mitchell has been an expert in transfer dealings over the past and has proven it with Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton and RB Leipzig.
Hopefully, the new board takes this appointment just as seriously as their quest to hire Clement in the first place.
In other Rangers news, Celtic have made a decision are set to respond to Gers’ proposal amid ‘Growing Discord’ behind the scenes.
