Spotted: Philippe Clement jets into Glasgow with Rangers match on laptop

Philippe Clement has been spotted jetting into Glasgow watching a Rangers match on a laptop.

The Belgian, who was announced as the new Gers boss on Sunday (15 October), tweeted a photo of himself on board a plane watching a Light Blues game against what appears to be Motherwell.

The 49-year-old captioned the post with “direction Glasgow, no time to waste” as he looks to quickly get to work after beating Kevin Muscat in the race to replace Michael Beale at Ibrox.

Eager

It’s pretty clear that Clement is eager to get to work after being appointed as the new Rangers manager on Sunday following a long process by the club’s board.

He emerged as the favourite for the job earlier this week and it appears as though he impressed in the final interviews between himself and Muscat.

The Belgian will be under no illusions that it is going to be a tricky job to take over to begin with after a disappointing start to the season has left the Gers seven points behind Celtic in the SPFL table at this early stage.

He will be keen to get to work with the Light Blues players on the training ground as he looks to get a tune out of the summer signings – something Beale failed to do in the opening couple of months of this campaign.

The new Light Blues will, however, back himself to go in and turn things around as there is still plenty of time for him to ensure that this is still a successful season at Ibrox.

In other Rangers news, one Ibrox favourite could be finished after the Clement appointment.
